Environmental

Rankin Construction is acutely aware of the environment and the dire consequences of the world’s disregard in so many ways. Not only is the continual consumption of fossil fuels leading to global warming but it also contributes to many of the toxic gases in our atmosphere. As a result of this Mr. Rankin became interested in renewable energy about 12 years ago.

Rankin Construction can safely say that because of company owned projects the carbon emissions of Rankin Construction equipment have been neutralized even though those carbon credits had to be passed on to the province when one sells the electricity to the grid. The company is also pursuing other hydro and wind projects.

The company has carried out many environmental projects receiving an award for one project in particular, namely the Chedoke Creek project in Hamilton. We also have in house training for our employees and a policy for spill prevention.

The company checks the fuel consumption for all new equipment purchased and this is a major consideration.
